My Name is Melissa Rusu.

I am currently studying Bachelor of Education Early Childhood Teaching.

To date my knowledge and literacy skills have played a significant role in my education and life, contributing to the successful completion of a Diploma in Education as well as several certificates in Childrens services. 

I worked for many years in childcare working in several roles. As I got older and began my own family I progressed to working as a Special education teacher assistant. I have worked in this role for the past 20 years. I am passionate about working with children, especially those of differing abilities. I have worked with numerous students having varying abilities within both the WA education department and the NT education department.

As part of this unit ELA200, I will explore literacy and the fundamental role it plays within education and within my life as a student and future educator through creating an e-portfolio about literacy including reflecting on my personal literacy history and current practices and knowledge.
